Thonburi Railway Station
Thon Buri Railway Station is one of terminal stations in Bangkok, Thailand. It was originally known as Bangkok Noi Railway Station and opened in 1903 as the main terminus for all Southern Line services. During World War II, the station was bombed by the Allies because it was an important Japanese logistical center. After the war, the station was rebuilt and renamed Thon Buri Railway Station.
Over the years, the importance of Thon Buri Railway Station has declined as most train services have moved to terminate at Bangkok Railway Station. However, Thon Buri Railway Station still serves a number of important destinations, including Kanchanaburi, the home of the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, and Nam Tok, the gateway to Erawan National Park. The station is also a popular terminus for commuter trains, which connect it to other parts of Bangkok and surrounding areas.
There are five trains that leave and arrive here every day. In addition, there are a number of commuter trains that run between here and Nakhon Pathom.
