Bangkok to Kanchanaburi by Train

The easiest way to go from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi by train along the Death Railway is to catch a local train from Thonburi Railway Station. There are two trains a day. Ordinary No. 257 train that departs at 7:45 a.m. and Ordinary No. 259 train that departs at 1:55 p.m. There are only 3rd Class carriages available on this route with fans and open windows. Tickets are a fixed 100 Baht no matter the length of your journey. You cannot buy these tickets in advance or even online. You have to buy at the station before departure. Do not worry as tickets don’t sell out. If they run out of seats, you can just stand!
