Update on Three Double Track Tunnels on the Northeastern Line
There are three tunnels being built as part of the double track project on the Northeastern Line. This is the latest update.
1️⃣ The 1st tunnel is between Map Kabao Station, Pha Sadet Station and Hin Lap Station in Saraburi Province. This is the longest railway tunnel in Thailand with a length of 5.85 kilometers, about 7.50 meters wide, 7.00 meters high. This is a double tunnel with a single track in each tunnel. Inside the tunnel, there is a passenger evacuation route every 500 meters. Currently, 98.130% progress has been made.
2️⃣ The 2nd tunnel is between Hin Lap Station and Muak Lek Mai Station in Saraburi Province, with a length of 650 meters, a width of 11.00 meters, a height of 7.30 meters. It is a single tunnel with the tracks. The tunnel is larger than the other tunnels. Currently, the construction is completed.
3️⃣ The 3rd tunnel is located in Lam Takhong Dam area between Khlong Khanan Chit Station, Pak Chong District and Khlong Phai Station, Sikhio District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province With a length of about 1.4 kilometers, 7.50 meters wide, 7.00 meters high. It is a single tunnel with two tracks. Currently, the construction is completed.
